For Today.... Monday February 16, 2009

Outside My Window...a sunny day earlier, a little crisp, a perfect day with lots of wonderful happenings.

I am Thinking....how blessed I am to be a foster parent, to be able to witness the beginning of a FAMILY!! There is nothing like it. My little foster babies placed in their new homes, with their new mommy and daddy. The joy is unspeakable.

I am thankful... for my new grandson, Jack Merchant Rae born 5 days ago to My Rachel and Peter. We prayed for Rachel her whole pregnancy and the Lord answered our prayers. Our church family faithfully prayed for Rachel and Jack too. God is so good!  I am thankful for my brothers and sisters for providing airfare so I can see little Jack in Montana. I am also thankful for the many people that will be watching my children while I am away.

From the Learning Rooms...  After 21 years of homeschooling I am losing my enthusiasm??? BUT I found out a way to be excited again!! I needed to be creative again. I started  a literature unit study on Black Beauty. I had about 25-30 different courses (who really knows) for my 6 children going on that I am responsible for them to complete. Unit studies are the way to go and it encourages my heart and it reminds me what real learning is about.

From My Kitchen... my DH bought me a food processor and I made chocolate chip cookies with it last night. I have such a sweet husband and he loves me. He even bought me roses for Valentines Day.

I am wearing ... (not again ) my robe on top of my clothes to keep warm.

I am Reading... The Puritan Hope by Ian Murray. I read very little and especially since I haven't slept more that 2-3 hours a night without waking to care for a crying baby for 6 weeks.

I am Hoping... that I can start the day RIGHT tomorrow. I will have had a full night's sleep, and I can read my Bible without interruptions.

I am hearing ... my husband watch college basketball, my dog snoring and my children bickering.

Around the House... I have put our foster baby's clothes away, and the cradle away, car seat....I am getting organized!!

One of My Favorite Things...I love to have the kitchen counters clean! This happens quite often and then I turn around and they are filled up again??? Who can figure?

A Few Plans For The Rest of the Week....I have NO dentist appointments this week,  hallelujah!!  I plan on doing a full day of school tomorrow, Wednesday is Bible Study... an easy week.

FOR TODAY... Monday, January 26, 2009

Outside My Window.... A crisp, beautiful day given to me by the Lord. The giver of all good gifts. Hints of snow coming our way!

I Am Thinking....January is almost over. Time passes so quickly. Am I using my time wisely?

I Am Thankful For... My dear husband (of 36 years) who works so hard everyday and strives to please the Lord and loves me so much.

From the Learning Rooms...I am enjoying the Apologia Science as I marvel about all the sea creatures God has made. God has worked all these together to glorify Him. Amazing!

From the Kitchen...Pork chops, baked potatoes broccoli and biscuits!!

I Am Wearing... nothing special, just comfortable.

I Am Creating... possibly an exercise and nutrition unit for my children who love the computer and TV too much. I would probably do a better and more thorough job of it if we waited til next year to start the unit but I need this too.

I am Going... to babysit my grandchildren tomorrow as my daughter goes to her OB appointment.

I am Reading... very little but I do hop in and out of Twelve Ordinary Men by John MacArthur.

I am Hoping... that Sophie, our little foster baby, isn't getting sick. She is under 5 pounds and is just too little to be ill. Tomorrow might be a full day at the doctors.

I am Hearing... quiet :)

Around the House... I will soon wake Sophie up for her bottle before I sleep for 3 hours, hopefully. She is my little alarm clock at 3am. Then at 6am.

A Few Plans For the Rest of the Week...Alissa's tomorrow (she will be 32 years old on Wednesday), Elias- Dentist on Thursday, Margery-Piano lessons on Friday. Snow is coming possibly. Fun!
